Hosting UC Berkeley Students at 1598 University Apartments

UC Berkeley students on a Synergy Modular site visit at 1598 University Apartments, Berkeley

Synergy Modular recently hosted a UC Berkeley student group for a site visit at 1598 University Apartments, an eight-story mixed-use community under construction on University Avenue in Berkeley.

Students toured active levels of the jobsite in hard hats and high-visibility gear, including rooftop and lobby areas. The visit was a chance to see volumetric modular construction alongside a Type I podium in real time, not only in drawings.

What the building is

1598 University Apartments combines five levels of Type I construction (apartments, amenities, lobby, retail, and underground parking with motorized parking stackers) with five levels of Type III volumetric modular apartments above. Synergy Modular, Inc is delivering the project. Completion is estimated for December 2026.

The hybrid stack is the point of the tour: podium systems and parking logistics below, factory-built modules set above, one accountable delivery path.

Why the visit matters

Campus and industry audiences look for owned evidence that Synergy Modular hosts real jobsites and explains sequence clearly. This post pairs a live Berkeley project with a documented student visit, using Synergy-hosted photography from the day.
